about

At the turn of the 20th century, if your gal left you, it appears – in this tune, anyway – you had some, er... recourse. Most likely catego- rized as a “traditional American nonsense tune,” this story tells of dealing with lost love in a completely, socially-unacceptable man- ner. Made famous by Doc Watson’s guitar, it makes for a fun, stomp n’ holler and dance number, too! Ari and Chris singing, here. Roll up the carpet!
